Most implant systems have 5 simple steps for placement of each implant:
1. Soft tissue reflection: An incision is made over the crest of bone, splitting the thicker attached gingival roughly in half so that the remaining implant will have a thick band of tissue round it. The edges of tissue, every referred to as a flap are pushed returned to expose the bone. Flapless surgery is an alternate technique, the place a small punch of tissue (the diameter of the implant) is eliminated for implant placement as an alternative than elevating flaps.
